London Wedding Videographer | The Asylum & Brunswick House
As a wedding videographer I find myself shooting in the most unusual places. Take this derelict chapel of a decommissioned asylum, known to everyone in the industry as The Asylum. Although it has become quite a favourite for quirky and alternative couples to host their wedding ceremonies, it’s still fairly unique when it comes to wedding venues. It’s not your usual barn or hotel ball room. It has a texture and a light to it (you’ll notice that in the film) and more importantly it’s an historic, bare, naked building you can customise to your heart’s content.
London wedding videography can be challenging. If you think about all the logistics going on in a hustling and bustling city wedding with two or three venues or locations, things can get pretty mad.
From a wedding videographer’s point of view this wedding had all the hallmarks of a good cinematic production. The bridal preparations were undertaken at the Residence of Artistes and the ceremony at the Asylum. After that, Routemaster London historic coach took us to West London to the fantastic Brunswick House.
Brunswick House weddings are like having a celebration at a working museum. In fact, Brunswick House is a working antiques shop and its very own interior and cabinets full of history and everyday centuries old artefacts give films a very special ambience and character. The one thing about Brunswick House we wished was better is that the dancing/partying area, after the reception, is quite tight and above all, dark.
All in all, though this wedding was a lot of fun. Bridesmaids dressed in slick, classy black dresses, a beautiful bride with an incredible hair and the groom, well, he made one of the best wedding speeches I’ve ever seen.
I would love to go back and shoot an Asylum Wedding in East London - or a Brunswick House wedding, for that matter. If you’re looking for a Wedding Videographer London is a great place to start as there’s amazing variety.
